An Invisible Force is a
table which can answer questions. The user selects a question
from a pack of question cards. They place their card in
a slot in the table and push it down. The answer to their
question is gradually spelt out on the surface of the table.
There is a penalty for learning the answer - as the words
arerevealed a metal plate under the the users hand becomes
hotter and hotter, in this way they a forced to endure a
level of pain in order to see the entire answer.
An Invisible Force has been exhibited widely - at Digital
Arts Festival Tokyo in 2003; at Salone
Del Mobile in Milan in 2004. It was awarded an honorary
mention [Interactive Art Division] at the Prix
Ars Electronica 2002.
